We’re Hiring! Community Outreach Coordinator – Full Time Contract

Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator – 37.5 hour/week. 1 year paid internship.

Northern Lights Festival Boreal (NLFB) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to fill the role of Community Outreach Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Community Outreach Coordinator will play a crucial role in engaging diverse communities across Northern Ontario and promoting NLFB’s mission and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse communities across Northern Ontario.
2. Coordinate and attend community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to promote NLFB and build relationships with stakeholders.
3. Assist in overall festival logistics to ensure smooth operations.
4. Assist in the planning and execution of outreach campaigns, including social media marketing, email newsletters, and promotional materials.
5. Collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and cultural groups to identify partnership opportunities and enhance community participation in NLFB events.
6. Support volunteer recruitment and management efforts, including training sessions, scheduling, and appreciation initiatives.
7. Assist in the evaluation of outreach activities, gathering feedback from community members and stakeholders to inform future strategies and initiatives.
8. Contribute to the development of outreach materials, such as press releases, blog posts, and website content, to effectively communicate NLFB’s mission and programs to the public.
9. Assist the Executive Director in acquiring corporate sponsorships and funding to support NLFB’s initiatives and events.

Qualifications:

– Previous experience in community outreach, event coordination, or related roles preferred.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong organizational and project management abilities.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
– Knowledge of Northern Ontario communities and cultural landscapes is an asset.
– Proficiency in social media management and marketing tools.
– Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required for travel to community events.
