Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Media and Content Coordinator to join our team for the upcoming Northern Lights Festival Boreal. The ideal candidate will create, manage, and enhance the festival’s marketing engagement strategy, ensuring that attendees have a memorable festival experience. This role requires a creative thinker, an exceptional communicator, and someone passionate about music and live events. This is a one-year contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Festival Audience Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to engage festival-goers before the event via social media, press releases, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.
Create content that encourages ticket sales and builds excitement for the festival.
Manage and grow the festival’s online communities on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and more.
Assist with the production of marketing collateral, including flyers, posters, on-site signage and digital banners.
Coordinate with legacy media to increase audience reach and engagement.
Execute contests, giveaways, and interactive campaigns to boost excitement leading up to the event.
Develop engaging content for the website, email newsletters, and print materials that promote the festival and its performers.
Design assets to be used on social media, newsletters and more.
Design on-site signage for the festival.
On-Site Engagement: Assist with the set up and tear down of the festival, working alongside staff and volunteers.
Organize and manage interactive on-site experiences such as meet-and-greets, contests, photo opportunities, and photographs of the festival.
Assist during the festival with whatever is needed. It is a hectic time that requires all hands on deck.
Post-Festival Engagement: Develop strategies for maintaining post-festival engagement, including thank-you emails, social media content, and surveys to gather feedback from attendees.
Cultivate relationships with attendees for future events, ensuring they feel valued and part of the festival community.
Analyze audience feedback and data to understand trends, preferences, and areas for improvement for future festivals.
Assist in the development of the 2026 sponsorship materials and promotional opportunities for festival partners.
Design the branding for the 2026 festival.
Assist in creating a 2025/2026 marketing plan to maintain engagement and build excitement for future events.
Develop other assets as requested by the Executive Director.
Assist in the marketing of any year-long events that are held under the umbrella of NLFB.
Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure audience engagement strategies align with the overall festival goals.
Report on engagement metrics and provide insights to enhance future audience engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in marketing, or a similar role (preferably within the arts or entertainment industry).
- Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and out-of-the-box to engage a diverse audience.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A deep passion for live music and festivals.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced, high-energy environments.
- Comfortable working long hours, including evenings and weekends, during the festival.
- Strong understanding of WordPress and Elementor.
- Proficiency in Google Workspaces.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Access to a vehicle.
- French-speaking will be an asset
