One of our first festival performers, celebrated francophone singer-songwriter Robert Paquette returns for the 50th. Singer-songwriter, actor, radio and TV host, Sudbury-bred Paquette sang for the rock band Marketville Riot before setting out on a career that has now spanned 16+ albums. He was instrumental in establishing and highlighting the Franco-Ontario music scene. Jean Beaunoyer has described his songs as “hits full of punch, bite and energy […] Paquette does not reveal much about himself in his music: his lyrics are those of a witness rather than a participant. He is a photographer and a storyteller”
