NLFB Meltdown offers emerging musicians a chance to perform a dream gig March 18th

NLFB is excited to continue it’s annual tradition of hosting the March Meltdown at the Townehouse Tavern. The Meltdown is a juried battle-of-the-bands that’s geared towards upcoming musicians hoping to play on the big stage. The prize? A paid
gig at Northern Lights Festival Boréal 46, sharing the stage with Yukon Blonde and other incredible acts from across the country.

The showcase will be divided into two portions: solo acts including singer-songwriters and spoken word artists will perform between 3PM and 6PM while bands and larger groups will perform between 7PM and 10PM, both at The Townehouse Tavern (206 Elgin St). Performers are each assigned a 15-minute time slot, performing 3 songs, and will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Two winners will be selected: one solo act and one band. Each will earn a slot at NLFB 46 this summer, and will be eligible for musical mentorship programs held at the festival.

Past winners of the Meltdown include Jennifer Holub, Hello Holiday and Martine Fortin. Admission for spectators is $7.00 and includes admission to the Townehouse in the evening. Registration for performers is $25 per act, and includes a one-year membership to NLFB. Participants must be registered by March 11th at the absolute latest.

Those who are interested are asked to contact the NLFB office at 705-674-5512 or marketing@gmail.com. Registration forms are below.
