Annie Sumi

Since the release of her debut album in 2015, North Bay based singer-songwriter, Annie Sumi, has criss-crossed Canada charming audiences with her brand of musical storytelling that spans folk, roots, and ethereal vocalization. Like a travelling minstrel, she has a way of breathing in all the beauty of nature and the subtleties of life, and breathing out musical tales that inspire, enchant, or reach deep into the soul.
Annie released her debut album Reflections in the spring of 2015. The record charted on college radio for 10 straight weeks and earned some airplay on CBC radio, coast to coast. Her talent for performing and songwriting has earned her nominations from the Toronto Independent Music Awards, the Hamilton Music Awards, and has won her praises from such authorities as George Stroumboulopoulos and NOW Magazine. She is also a member of Hidden Roots Collective, performing at this year’s festival.
